Milan is one of the world’s leading fashion cities, home to a legion of some of the best known names in international design, such as Dolce and Gabbana and Prada.

Italy is famed for its style and passion and both were combined in a stunning show of international design excellence at Milan Fashion Week.

Sunshine yellow was favoured for Spring Summer ’10,  teamed with fresh summery white, used as fresh base to layer the seasons’ lighter colour palette.  The dark dynasty colouring and styling popular this season was replaced with nostalgic and romantic sheers in tones of pastels and grey.

A significant theme throughout most of the collections was the detailed construction of fabrics.  Ruffles, pleats, layered sheers, waves and raw edges were all seen on the runway.

Again long shorts with soft silhouettes were big, forming part of next summer’s more romantically inclined vibe.
